Your laboratory starts with basic capacity — hatching one egg at a time from the Meadow biome. Each egg requires real-time incubation measured in minutes or hours depending on species rarity. The system runs on two currencies: golden coins earned through successful hatches and research points gained by documenting new species in your encyclopedia.

Progression follows a research tree structure with 12+ unlockable nodes. Basic Incubator upgrade unlocks at 100 research points, increasing your capacity to 2 simultaneous eggs and 9% faster hatching speed. The Breeding Chamber becomes available after documenting 5 unique species, allowing you to combine two adult birds to create next-generation offspring with inherited traits. Advanced systems like the Stabilizer Serum require 500+ research points and enable mutation restoration for rare variants.

The six biomes — Meadow, Frost, Ember, Mist, Arcane, Workshop — each contain distinct bird families with unique visual markers and trait combinations. Frost biome birds display crystalline feather patterns and cold-adapted genetics. Arcane species exhibit glowing particles and mystical trait modifiers that impact breeding outcomes. Each biome unlocks sequentially as your laboratory level increases, with the Workshop biome representing the final research tier containing legendary mechanical bird hybrids.
